Built to Last: Financial Sustainability for Recovery Homes, with Insights on Rural Recovery Experiences

Drawing on findings from the Recovery Housing Sustainability (RHS) Research Project, this presentation examines the financial and operational challenges that shape the long-term viability of recovery residences. Presenters will introduce the Recovery Housing Sustainability Toolkit and its adapted Business Model Canvas as practical tools for financial planning and organizational decision-making, illustrating how research is being translated into real-world support for operators. The session also spotlights the distinct strengths and challenges facing rural recovery homes, offering a grounded perspective on sustainability across diverse communities.
