Integrated Recovery Residences and Supports into the ASAM Criteria
Welcome to the Fletcher Group's course on how the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) has, for the first time, integrated recovery services like mutual-support and peer support groups, recovery housing , and employment training into comprehensive treatment planning. The Learning Objectives for this course are: Introduce the important changes about recovery supports and recovery residences in ASAM: Provide information about the evidence and conceptual frameworks used to fully integrated recovery support services into ASAM treatment planning, and; Learn about ASAM’s recommended assessment tools in recovery capital.

Understanding Urine Analysis
Urine analysis is the best-developed and most-used monitoring technique in substance use treatment programs across the continuum of care. When used correctly and competently following best practice guidelines, it can be an effective therapeutic tool. Drug testing uses a biological sample to detect the presence or absence of a specific drug (or drugs) and drug metabolites within a specific window of time. No universal standard exists today in clinical drug testing for addiction identification, diagnosis, treatment, medication monitoring, or recovery.

Intermediate Program Evaluation
This course will provide students with a detailed overview of evaluation instruments and tools. This course will consist of five modules covering resident outcomes of interest, construction and use of a data shell, simple data analysis, data visualization, and reporting. A basic knowledge of Excel is expected, but not required. The course helps recovery house owners, operators, and managers.

Insurance for Recovery Housing
Purchasing insurance for your recovery house is not the same as you would purchase for your own home. There are important considerations to make and discuss with your board and insurance agent. And not all insurance agents are skilled in recovery housing insurance. You may have to look to other insurance companies to get appropriate coverage. This course provides you with an overview of the different items you should investigate as you begin shopping for insurance for the house.

Recovery Capital: Overview and Implications for Recovery Services
William Cloud and Robert Granfield coined the term Recovery Capital over 20 years ago. They defined it as “the breadth and depth of internal and external resources that can be drawn upon to initiate and sustain recovery” from substance use disorder.
